Fire Safety Risk Assessment
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO) requires that a “responsible person” undertakes a risk assessment of the building in question which involves fire fighting and fire detection provisions. Purely domestic properties are excluded under the RRFSO, however it does apply to the common areas of houses in multiple occupation and the common parts of blocks of flats.
The “responsible person” could be the owner/landlord or group of owners, ie share of freehold. If you are concerned that you fall within this category and have not carried out this assessment, please contact us for immediate advice.
